Ferrell’s Government Newspaper

As the leader of the loyal opposition in Federal Way, Washington, Mark Greene and his American Sun-Light News & Literature blog and our various social media outlets have been constantly critical of the government newspaper, Citywide News, that the mayor of Federal Way, Jim Ferrell, has sponsored and hoisted up.

Mark is very respected by the 35 to 46 per cent of Federal Way citizens that support or vote for him but when he walks into City Hall the government employees there, with the sterling exception of a few, bristle at the sight of him and treat him like a common criminal because they know that Mark is not about upholding Ferrell’s policies, or raising his leftist and foreign flags at City Hall or around town, or keeping the Diversity Commission going, or going along with the politicization of City Hall with a propaganda and electioneering political newspaper.

They realize that Mark is the Clarence Thomas of Federal Way except a little further to the right of Justice Thomas and that if he ever becomes mayor, Federal Way leadership is going to epitomize our American Judeo-Christian traditions and values. They also know that Mark is likely to be Ferrell’s 2025 challenger, a rematch of 2021. Mark is considering going to court to get Citywide News taken down (and to regulate the city’s cable channel and social media outlets), but right now he’ll probably just write to the State Attorney General’s office and see if he can get Bob Ferguson’s attention about this matter …of course, that’s about as likely as winning the Powerball jackpot but Mark wants to use up all of his options, including writing the State Public Disclosure Commission, before taking the matter of Citywide News before the court, especially as the 2025 Federal Way mayoral election looms large.

Ferrell should not be allowed to have a taxpayer funded election newspaper, amassed by his own government’s recognition, authority and approval, and covered with his own photos and politics; and, while all this is going on, citizens of Federal Way, possibly the majority, considering elections in Federal Way as fair, which is a stretch, to put it nicely. Of course, the city government funded cable channel and social media, with very little doubt, government employees being paid to work on them, and, effectively, propaganda and electioneering sources, should also be examined by other governmental authorities, and courts, that might serve as a check on Ferrell and his seeming thirst for accumulation of power. Even Seattle allows any and all political candidates to access their TV broadcasts, and probably social media, but Federal Way government treats political dissidents the same way that City Hall treats Mark when he goes there, with disrespect and governmental hubris.
