• Public Disclosure Commission Dismisses F.W. Lifeline’s Query With a Non-Answer

Our committee president, Mark Greene, is a candidate for Mayor of Federal Way. He wrote the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission an email on May 31, 2025. He questioned why potential declared write-in candidates were not considered eligible for election by them, according to the language on their website. The site implies that candidates are not eligible without a formal write-in declaration. They are not even considered declared candidates in and of themselves. We believe that you do not even have to be a declared write-in candidate to win an election, according to the law. Winning is possible if your write-in votes outnumber everybody else’s votes. Being a declared write-in candidate helps with alleviating confusion. It accounts for misspellings of the candidate’s name. It seems to be in the candidate’s best interest. Still, it’s not a strict, legal necessity.

What’s the point of reiterating these points, you say? The point is that the Public Disclosure Commission cannot imply that candidates are not eligible for election on their ‘For the Voters & the Public’ website page. They cannot expect that kind of disparagement of write-in candidates or declared candidates to go unquestioned. When you sign up with them as a candidate, it apparently means you’re a ‘declared’ candidate. This is based on the logic of their stated legally mandated requirements of being a candidate. You need to report that fact to them. For the record, being a ‘declared candidate’ is different than being a ‘declared write-in candidate.’ You could technically be one without the other. Although, we believe all candidates for any public office in Washington must sign up with them (if there’s an exception to the rule, we’re not aware of it). This should be done within two weeks of becoming a candidate.

All of this is a long-winded way of saying something important. Anybody who signs up with the Public Disclosure Commission is eligible for election. This remains true unless that candidate informs them that they are no longer a candidate, thereby making a formal withdrawal of their candidacy. So, why would the P.D.C. have a website that implies differently! They could use an asterisk for candidates that simply are not on the ballot. That would at least be informative. It would also be factual. It’s counter-intuitive to use asterisks for candidates within the standard framework of elections. Especially when compared to those going, or potentially going, the write-in route.

Mark Greene is a write-in candidate for Mayor of Federal Way. He intends to make that a declared write-in candidacy.

F.W. Lifeline Mark Greene for Mayor is the name of his election committee.

The P.D.C. did not respond to the committee’s query on this subject but we’ll be okay without an answer…we’re eligible for election either way.

    POST-SCRIPT:

P.D.C. finally responded after more than a week.

    Good afternoon,

In response to your question about the green asterisks denoting ‘declared candidates’ and ‘candidates eligible for election’ on the PDC website, yes, these also include “declared” write-in candidates.

PDC candidacy forms submitted to us, in and of itself, do not necessarily mean ‘declared candidate’. A “declared” candidate files declarations of candidacy with election officials. Persons “register” with the PDC when, according to the disclosure law, they become a candidate by doing one of these things: accept a contribution or spend money for your campaign; reserve space or purchase advertising to promote your candidacy; authorize someone else to do any of these activities for you; state publicly that you are seeking office; or file a declaration of candidacy.

I hope this information is helpful.

Mark’s response to their (PDC’s) response: Thanks for the reply.  It is new and kind of puzzling to me that registering with you (the PDC) is not necessarily the same thing as being a declared candidate…if I understood your reply well…so that explains why some candidates can apparently get away with filing a C-1 form but not file (an) F-1 form in a timely manner, if at all, because filing a C-1 form doesn’t necessarily mean you are a declared candidate, according to your email.  Therefore, (an) F-1 form is not necessarily warranted at all until a candidate files a declaration with their election office or in some way advertises his candidacy, but merely registering with a C-1 form doesn’t automatically require a follow-up F-1 if this logic is to be followed.

F.W. Lifeline Mark Greene for Mayor Committee: We’re getting a headache trying to understand this election minutiae. So, apparently being a declared candidate and being ‘just a candidate’ can be two different things (who knew?) but how do you become ‘just a candidate’ without declaring that fact and at the same time indicating a bunch of legal requirements, like filing with the PDC.

Post-Script: Regarding the above statements by our committee, we are just ruminating publicly, do not follow our thought line about reporting requirements, necessarily. If you become a candidate (under PDC jurisdiction) at all, you should file both a C-1 form and an F-1 form within two weeks of your candidacy, no ifs, ands or buts.

We think a lot of the confusion we’re writing about is a matter of semantics and could be solved with better word choices. Like use the word ‘official’ for certain candidates instead of ‘declared’. ‘Declared’ has at least two different kinds of meanings, such as somebody could just stand up in front of a neighborhood group and say that they are running for Council. That would be a theoretical declaration but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a ‘declared candidate’ under PDC rules or jargon, apparently. ‘Official’, on the other hand, would mean that you made an oath or did some kind of paperwork with an election authority that certified your candidacy.

  • America Has Gone Topsy-Turvy Foreign

We knew that universities and colleges in the U.S. had a penchant for recruiting and signing up foreign students. This is especially true for the leftist and radical leftist ones. Nonetheless, we were slightly surprised to see the high percentages of foreign students at these institutions of higher learning. The percentages are often as high as 33 to 40 per cent, or even higher. In other words, one-third or more at a lot of them. President Donald Trump is right in criticizing these high numbers. His administration is trying to push back on it by revoking visas. They are also rolling back approvals in the first place. All of this is good. We thought the number of foreign students at these institutions was around 20 to 25 per cent. This isn’t good, either. The range is probably all over the map. Nevertheless, it’s generally too high.

The unusually big number of foreign students enrolled in universities and colleges in America has several problems. Like America is supposed to help Americans foremost and primarily…YOU THINK. For every slot that a college gives to foreigners, it means that many slots are not given to Americans. Americans should be given the first right to all slots…did we say “all”, yes we said ALL.

Alternatively, if colleges have a special educational need to invite a few foreign students, that happens to be truly exceptional, it must meet whatever the legal standard is or should be on the books. Additionally, if there are extra slots that our own citizens have decided not to fill; then, the colleges have a rare opportunity to have some of their international, so-called diversity slots filled. Right now, the ‘open borders’ policies of colleges (and that’s what it is, it’s just a different version of it) and America in general have already caused a great 5th Columnist Trojan Horse to settle in our nation. The former Biden Regime increased the 5th Columnist threat immensely, to put it mildly.

We won’t cover the details too broadly in this essay. This is just a little essay trying to be Paul Revere. It warns about the bordering-on-treasonous, or exactly treasonous, opening-of-America-to-‘anybody’ policy. This threat is posed by unpatriotic, unamerican, globalist elites. More than a few of them are foreign themselves, or not that far from it. Surprise, surprise, surprise.

  • Our New Goal: One-a-week

Our latest essay or post (not counting this one) is “The United States’ Identity Crisis”. It took a long time to arrive after the previous one, “Deborah and Jael”. It was about a month-and-a-half. Too long, we surmise, to keep subscribers to our blog and potential new ones interested. Being that the American Sun-Light News & Literature blog is an enterprise of the Party of Commons, a.k.a., the Revived Citizens Party, we have a lot of projects on our hands. We are trying to enact Federal Way Citizens Initiative 24-003. This initiative aims at reshaping the City Council into a hybrid district and at-large system. It is pretty much dead in the water, barring a miracle, to be honest. The interest in it has been fledgling, at best. Who wants to take the time to get 20 signatures on a petition? It’s a rhetorical question. We actually need 8000 signatures at a bare minimum. We foolishly thought we get 400 people to get 20 signatures apiece. Good luck with that! Our marketing of the initiative hasn’t been the best. We admit this failure. Partly, we are too proud to seek the assistance of the local, so-called newspaper. Not to mention that money helps; another thing where the phrase, ‘bare minimum’, comes in handy. Actually, we would love to have the bare minimum for this initiative.

Other projects: making videos and/or writing posts for YouTube, Rumble, and Patreon. This is another once-a-week goal. We are posting on “X”, where we have been spending way too much time lately. We are also assisting with the Mark Greene for Mayor of Federal Way Campaign. So, not a lot of time for writing essays on this blog. Nevertheless, we’re trying to make time from this point onward, so we’re shooting for at least a post-a-week (ad-hoc…no routine, specific day of the week). With this post, we have completed two this week. This shows progress. We’re trying not to cheat and count this one for the new week that starts tomorrow, which is Easter. No promises, though. “Promises”…that’s yet one more thing where ‘bare minimum’ comes to mind, just because it’s wise.

  • The United States’ Identity Crisis

Dismayingly, the United States is on the brink of transforming into an amalgam of nations worldwide. This transformation is due to the dubious effects of most American national governments from 1965 to 2024 and influential persons. In these times, at least, it typically didn’t raise an eyebrow until it became a deliberate goal. Primarily, by influential people aiming to change the entire identity of the United States by will or government fiat. The Biden Regime was the prime example of imposing the latter. Nevertheless, the United States of America is a nation with its own national identity. This means, by and large, descendants of people that have been here since the 18th century founding and before. The American people have generally said that we don’t want an immigration system that is too broad. Especially, it shouldn’t be too broad for assimilation to the American system. However, it has been too broad. This is due to the 1965 Immigration Act, among other laws and programs. Expansively generous visa programs have been largely taken advantage of by foreigners. There has been a tendency to look the other way, e.g., the Biden Regime. This includes violations of immigration law. In some cases, like Biden’s, regimes actively violate such laws with utter disregard for them.

Now, the United States has become a foreign-entangled, political hotbed. Foreigners are disputing their differences and conflicts here. Competing foreign or generational ‘foreign’ interests try to gain a foothold, and a hierarchical advantage over each other. This includes a disruptive ‘unamerican’ influence in a host of different areas. This is an identity crisis not of our own (America First’s) making. But it is one that we are trying to solve through our votes, even if erratic and imperfect. It is past time for Congress to pass legislation to address this problem. Repealing or reforming the 1965 Immigration Act would be a great start. Getting out of the increasingly globalist UN and disbanding its presence here, would be another.

Insane, Self-Inflicted Disharmony, De-sovereignty and Possible Disunion

  • Deborah and Jael

The overwhelming victory of Israel over Canaan in the ancient B.C. Era, as featured in the Book of Judges, was spearheaded by two strong women in a world dominated by men, Deborah and Jael.  Judge Deborah, graced with the Spirit of the Lord, had the gumption to lead a military attack, assisted by her lead general, Barak, on the Canaanites who had, heretofore, conquered and been oppressing Israel for two decades.  As Barak and his soldiers were decisively winning the battle, the Canaanite commander, Sisera, fled the battle scene, in disarray and on foot, and found himself at the home of Jael, a married woman, who then proceeded to kill him.  Thus, two unlikely women, one a Prophetess and the other a mere commoner, had triumphant roles in the victory of Israel.

The power of God to use unlikely and sometimes seemingly powerless people to exemplify His will should never be underestimated, including using the strength of women in contests of physical strength, wit, maneuverability, cunning and determination vis-a-vis more culturally and physically powerful men.  We, meaning humans anywhere, being creatures of God, the Creator, who can use any of us, from the most destitute and hounded to the most powerful and honored, male or female, young or old, frail or strong, for His means and His ends, and in the process award any one of us, if not many or some, with His badge of honor, when the time comes and the Lord Almighty so designates.

  • Federal Way and the Light Rail Train

We never asked to become a metropolis (which are many more pieces of the puzzle than the one we are focusing on in this essay) but Mayor Jim Ferrell and his sidekick, Pete von Reichbauer, the politician and King County Councilman who has a street named after him, are barreling Federal Way into a gigantic maelstrom of probable hooligans, misfits, malcontents, troublemakers, lawbreakers and riff-raff coming off of the light-rail train and causing no end of headaches and trouble for the city. There will likely be too many of these undesirables for the city to try to help turn their lives around into being productive citizens, if the lot of them are citizens at all, or arresting all those who will inevitably break the law. If King County’s handling of the buses are a portend of things to come, the last stop (Federal Way) on King County’s light rail will become a nightmare of crime, vandalism and a spreading thuggery on the streets of Federal Way. Constantine and Company have let freeloaders ride the buses for years, the very same people that have caused misery and havoc to the peaceful bus riders that are just trying to get from point A to point B. Even with the Sound Transit Security, we will need at least one cop on the beat for each of however many Light Rail Stations there will be in the city, 24/7, as well as making sure that any active lawbreakers who get or got off of the train are either jailed or given an option to “Get out of Dodge”, probably via the Light Rail from whence they came.

  • Commons: The Loyal Opposition: “Shape Up or Ship Out”

Bud, shape up fast, you simply need to follow instructions or start clearing out your desk.

  • The Party of Commons, the Boy Scouts’ Motto and the Farmers Market

Our Mark, the great chairman of the Party of Commons and our beloved leader, put out an article recently in which we were a little skeptical of the acquisition of the Farmers Market by the City of Federal Way, but now that it’s a done deal, we are beginning to look at it in a different way.

As many of you know, the Biden Regime instituted, with little push-back from RINOs and Republicans, and of course none from globalistic Democrats, a terrible idea, which is mainly known as the globalist Open Borders project.  This gross violation of immigration laws and the Constitution by Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas and their minions, basically just opened the door to the United States, similar to the Oklahoma Land Rush, to millions of foreigners from mostly the Americas, south of the Rio Grande River but also the entire damn world.

This ludicrous, brazen venture by the regime, that will thankfully be out of power in a few days, is the biggest national security threat that America has ever faced.  Biden and his band of treasonous fools let in, by many estimates from credible sources, hundreds-of-thousands of foreign spies, criminals, and terrorists into the landmass of America, including, by all accounts, and not the least among those according to an interview he did with the news program, 60 Minutes, the outgoing FBI director, himself, probable thousands of Chinese saboteurs.  Because of Biden’s outrageous Open Borders, the next several years may well become the most dangerous in America since the Civil War, and we can’t predict which series of afflictions and maladies might befall our nation but we need to be prepared for them.  There are two institutional American organization mottos that the whole country will have to make their own.  One is the Boy Scouts’s motto, “Be Prepared, and the other is the Marines’s motto, “Always Faithful”.

Keeping the Boy Scouts motto in mind, Mark is thinking, now that the City of Federal Way has indeed bought the Farmers Market, it could be useful for the city to own an agriculturally-minded venture like this, although ordinarily, Mark is a lot more pragmatic when it comes to what governments should be involved in (he’s basically small government-minded, with exceptions and depending on what level of government we’re talking about), but these are not ordinary times given the foreign menaces that the Biden Regime has set upon America and that will inevitably, to be honest, cause chaos and havoc.  Hopefully, the new Trump administration can mitigate the amount of trouble coming our way through his America 1st policies but there is only so much that even a level-headed government can do, now that the many Trojan Horses have been let into the country.

Mark believes that the Farmers Market could become an emergency food back-up plan for the city if regular markets go into a tailspin because of unforeseen events and calamities.  We could also start hoarding seeds and growing our own city’s food if it comes to that, and a lot of farmers around the area could give us ideas for how the city could be self-sufficient for growing food and maintaining a long-term supply.  So, despite our article “Overreach” on the American Sun-Light News and Literature website, and also published on Facebook, we’re beginning to think that the City running the Farmers Market is a good idea given the landscape of America in the soon-to-be aftermath of the ignominious Biden Regime.  We are always truthful but even in the hands of a much better administration, which should be Trump’s, we can only stress that they will have a gigantic mess to clean up, and the seas will be rough and treacherous in the meantime.  It’s probably going to take more than one administration, another way of saying more than 4 years, to clean up Biden’s mess.  Strength, honor and nation.
